Re. spinal fusion

Has anybody used M43.27 (fusion of LS spine) as a primary dx? Or should it be orthopedic aftercare? Also, should I still code the spinal stenosis? Any help would be appreciated!

    Yes---fusion was for spinal stenosis. M43.27 has an Excludes 1 for congenital fusion of spine. The SNF used this code in addition to the ortho aftercare however I have never seen or used it before!? It seems like it should be used for inpatient or procedure however appears to be a valid code! Thoughts?
