Re. replacement of intrathecal Baclofen pump

Hi,

Wondering how some of you would code this? Aftercare surgery of some sort? Or just Z97.8 for the presence of the pump? This is primarily a therapy case. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

    The patient has familial spastic paralysis and was inpt. d/t needing the Baclofen pump refilled. Pt. now with increased weakness and deconditioning basically. So, code the paralysis primary and the presence of the pump Z code at the end? And skip the "surgery" part? Is Z97.8 the correct code for the pump?

    That makes sense to me. Z97.8 is correct for presence of the pump.
