complication

I need to assign a code(s) for a pt that had a peri-prosthetic mid-shaft femur fx with hardware failure of right leg. Pt has had total hip and the a fx of same femur with fixation nail in the past. This current fx would be a complication of the nail fixation. Would you think it could be T84.010D only?
Or where else should I search? Any advice or code(s) would be greatly appreciated.

    You can only use a complication code if you have specific documentation of that by the MD. If MD does not document "due to" or "complication", then you cannot use the T-code.
