OASIS question

If a person has a pain pump, incision has epithelialized, is this still
considered a surgical wound? If so, would the status be newly epith?

  • Under the integumentary System; specifically with regards to edema. I know we answer M1350 yes if patient has edema and we are monitoring it, but my question is on the grid with the body to indicate where wounds are do you (or your agency) typically indicate edema on the body or just the documentation in the cardiac system.
  • There is a Q and A dated 12/12 #6, do you have the OASIS answers book? There is a definition of confusion cited from Mosby’s Medical Dictionary in that. The question says- what is the difference in what is measured in M1700 and M1710?

I’m wondering what the term “confusion” actually is referring to in M1710 – I’m thinking that it is not necessarily disoriented.
So if a person is disoriented to place/time consistently but they are able to function in their routine most of the time that the correct response would be #3 - confusion but not constantly.
    Am I interpreting this correctly?

  • I do not have the book and it looks like the CMS site only goes back to 2013
