patient is seen 1x month for foley cath change...nurse went out on day 60 to "recert" pt in hospital..was only overnight was discharged on day 60...we see the patient the next day! transfer? DC? and new admit? please helpl

    If the patient was in the ER or in observation status then nothing further needs to be done other than the recert.

    Hi Janet. You must first determine if the 24hr admission was under Observation status, or if it was for planned diagnostics. If so then OASIS is not required

    Nancy. she would still be a recert. It was day 60 that she came home from
    hospital ?? We are thinking we would have to do a whole new SOC

    Still a recert unless there are significant changes requiring a major change in your recerted POC.
    You can always do an addendum order to the (recerted) POC for any minor changes associated with the overnight stay.

    Ok thank you Nancy...she went in with "syncope" ...I don't feel that's any
    major change and like you said we can send an addendum to that effect.
