Hi, Coding a stasis ulcer as a varix depends if there is a statement of with or without varicose vein. If it is without a varicose vein or there is no statement of the ulcer being related to varicose veins then per guidance you would code I87.2 followed by the correct L97. If you have a book you can read further guidance about this on page 1034/1035 in the 2016 Decision Health coding manual. I couldn't seem to find this information through the coding center but I can confirm this is in the book. Hope this helps.
