We got a referral on a patient that requires str cath 3x week.....Can anyone shed any light on medicare coverage for this? Patient is unable...there is no caregiver to do it.
If the agency is providing active care/intervention you can. I would think if the patient is completely independent and safe then you should not, you would just code the diagnosis for which the patient requires straight cathing for.
