Coding fusion of spine M43.2_ with ankylosing spondylitis M45.0_

Hello,

My patient had thoracic and lumbar spinal fusions for osteomyelitis years ago. Patient has recently been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. I thought we couldn't code these two together? Can we code patient with ankylosing spondylitis in a different spinal region than they have fusion in?
