hand washing
I have a question about hand washing on a patient visit. We recently had a survey and they gave us a deficiency regarding hand washing. The surveyor went along on a HHA visit and said the HHA didn't wash her hands as freq as she should have. I could not believe all the points she expected the aide to have washed her hands while caring for this one patient in her own bathroom. It was unnecessary and unrealistic. I was wondering if an agency has a policy they could share with me regarding this and if other agencies are having this same problem.
