What code do you assign when the wound is not trauma, but physician won't say ulcer, however, it is due to osteomyelitis? This is on the left metatarsal.
Hi Brenda. A lesion that has no stated etiol and opens into an open wound lesion is by default an ulcerated lesion. Therefore you will code it as an ulcer, no etiol stated.
