Is there an ICD 10 code for when a person is on “medical marihuana”?

    Hi Arlene.

    I’m not sure with ICD10, but I would imagine it will be coded similarly to the old ICD9 recommendation (unless someone is aware of a more specific code for ICD10?).

    For ICD9, the code for “long term (current) use of other medications” was used for marijuana taken for medicinal purposes (IF prescribed). I would go with Z79.899.
