Hello,

I thought when a surgical wound (due to a fracture) became infected we only code the aftercare following infected surgical wound and not the fracture code. I guess we are supposed to code BOTH the aftercare following infected surgical wound and the fracture code?

    The fracture is listed because the infection is just to the surgical wound not down into the hardware. Coding the fracture as well indicates the fracture is still healing routinely without any complication even though the surgical wound is complicated.
