how long we can use "D" for Fx? If pt had surgery for pathological C2 fx in july & coming to us in October for muscle weakness, Difficulty walking & all that, Can I code fx with "D" or Sequela code required or Fx considered fully healed as No surgical incison anymore.. Appreciate any help..

    According to the guidelines- "D" hinges upon whether the HHA is providing
    active treatment for the condition. If this is for PT only and the MD's
    orders are that this is the continuation of the recovery phase, I would
    code "D". "S' is used for complications or conditions that happen as a
    direct result of the break, so "S" can not be coded.
