When you assign I11.0 for htn and chf does the htn need to go before the chf?

    Yes, it does.
  • I go by the focus of what the clinicians are doing. If the primary reason we
are seeing the pt is to get the knee/leg going then I will code it
    immediately following.

We always put it second. We also check for suture removal-whether our nurses are doing that, and PT/INR. *(With morbid obesity you should have a BMI)
