Transcatheter aortic valve replacement

Patient had a Transcatheter aortic valve replacement for OASIS M1340 would the answer be a no for a surgical wound since this was done through a catheter?

Comments

  • If there is no surgical wound, just an insertion site, then no this would not be a surgical wound. You would capture it in M1350.

  • Surgical wound present only if a cut-down was performed to reach the vasculature to perform the TAVR. If just puncture wound present, no surgical wound.

  • A friend of mine is on the team that does these procedures. They are done through an angio puncture. Truly amazing!
