complication bariatric surgery
Hello, I am coding a chart that MD documented complication from prior bariatric surgery. The complication was treated with current surgery. I'm not sure if the complication is resolved?
Per DH "
Do not use aftercare codes for complications that have been repaired or are resolving. Use the complication code with 7th character D."
However, the complication code for bariatric surgery- K95.89 does not have the option of a 7th character.
Any input?? Thank you.
