sepsis

If a person was in the hospital with UTI and sepsis and then is discharged
home on po abx, still very weak I’m thinking that I can still code the
sepsis but I would like to have verification that I am thinking correctly!

    I have to disagree. If pt is discharge on med's for Sepsis UTI you are not

    Sepsis always has me second guessing myself.

    We have a pt with documentation that pt has sepsis (unspecified organism)
    d/t community acquired pneumonia.

    Pt also has COPD, asthma, emphysema.

    Do I code sepsis A41.9 and pneumonia (and would the appropriate code for
    that be J44.0)? Do I also add a code for emphysema (J43.9)?
