Please settle our discussion this morning! What code do you use for a patient with and Acute Brain Injury, Subtle subarachnoid hemorrhage and suspected parenchymal hemorrhage?

Consider S06.9--- for traumatic injury
I60.9 for nontraumatic

We are looking at S06.6X9 & S06.2X9. What are your thoughts on these codes?

If loss of conciousness is documented by md then they would be appropriate, hemmorrhage is a injury not sure I would code both

You could use S06.2x0 diffuse brain injury without loss of consciouness
