infected bursa
A patient was admitted to the hospital for an infected prepatellar bursa of the right knee and had a I&D and a total Bursectomy. Patients was then sent home on antibiotics post procedure for 1 week. Since they are still on antibiotics would I code the bursa as infected or would it be aftercare because the bursa was completely taken out?
