Pseudoathrodosis-Lumbar

Ok kind of a stupid question, but my patient has Pseudoathrodosis-Lumbar, I know this is a non-union or false joint, but how do I honestly use the 7th characters in this case? Since it's a "non-union" do I use K or would I use D since they had inpatient interventions.

Thanks!

First of all no such thing as stupid question. But if you are in home health then use D as 7th character

  • I am, I just thought I would ask with this scenario. That's what I have, but then I had second guesses.

    Thank you :)!!!

Home Health can only use A-if we are actively treating the condition (wound care, ABT therapy) or D-subsequent encounter all others are for acute care settings.
