Patient admitted to home health following bowel resection. Should primary diagnosis be A/C following surgery on the digestive system, Z48.815? Patient has hx of colon cancer.

    Was the resection related to the colon cancer

    for me yes primary is A/C, and if the reason of resection is bowel obstruction put it on M1011 but dont forget to put hx of colon cancer.

    Yes, I listed colon cancer in M1011.
    M1021, Z48.815, a/c of the digestive system
    M1023, acquired absence of part of digestive tract, Z90.49

    Then why not code the aftercare related to neoplasm
