How do I code a patient that had a traumatic right ankle fracture and underwent ORIF on the right ankle , after 3 weeks , she was found to have draining wound. She was recommended for R ankle ORIF revision which she underwent . Wound cultures positive for ESBL klebsiella. Treated w/ meropenem in hospital and was on 6 week course of Ertapenem. Now she is home and no more antibiotic and Incision is covered with cast.
I'm confuse if I am to code the fracture code or the complication code . Please help me on how to code this.Thank you.
