Medicaid payer/Primary dx Bipolar (other mental health dx) with No Psych Nurse
Curious on how others are handling this situation. I’m working for a company where patients are on Medicaid and are having long term homecare services where they are getting their Medications set up which is pertaining to the diagnosis of Bipolar or other mental health conditions. This is being used as a PRIMARY diagnosis, shouldn’t services be performed by a Psych nurse like our book says to be primary? Or is it because the payer is Medicaid. I haven’t seen this until now. Can anyone shed some light?
