emphysema
Hello, I have a question re the guidance below from DH
"Do not assign a code from J43.- when the physician documentation reports emphysema with COPD, chronic obstructive bronchitis or emphysematous bronchitis. Emphysema with COPD, bronchitis and emphysematous bronchitis should be coded to J44.- and cannot be coded on the same claim as J43.-."
Does this mean do not code both J44- and J43- together only when MD doc the two conditions as "with" or never code both together? Thanks for any input!
