Non-healing toe wound
Good afternoon!
I admitted a patient for cellulitis of the lower extremity and I have documentation for this diagnosis. The patient has Type II DM, Stage 3 CKD, and neuropathy. The doctor also wrote on this patient's Face to Face form that the patient has a:
Non-healing wound on the R) great toe from a toenail removal
The doctor did not say the wound is a diabetic wound or a pressure ulcer. What code would be used to show a wound that is NOT a traumatic wound or open wound but a "sore" area on the toe...as always appreciate everyone's knowledge!
